Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 September 2026

The short version

This site does not have accounts, a checkout, a contact form, comments, or a mailing list. It does not run analytics or advertising trackers. The only thing stored anywhere is your light/dark theme choice, and that stays in your own browser - it never reaches us.

Who this policy covers

This policy covers mindfulmachinespress.com, published by Viveka Mohan Das. It is written to meet the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), even though the amount of personal information this particular site handles is minimal.

It does not cover other sites this site links to, including vivekamohandas.com, aisearch.global, theanswerengine.news, Amazon, SSRN, Zenodo, ORCID, or LinkedIn. Each of those has its own privacy policy.

What this site collects

Standard technical data only, and only as an unavoidable part of any website being served over the internet. This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare (as the hosting and content-delivery provider) processes routine server log data such as IP address, browser and device type, and which pages were requested, in order to deliver and secure the site. We do not independently collect, receive, or store that data ourselves, and no analytics or advertising tool is installed on this site.

Because Cloudflare operates a global network, that technical log data may be processed on servers outside Australia as a normal part of content delivery.

Theme preference (light/dark mode)

The toggle that switches this site between light and dark mode saves your choice in your browser's own local storage. That value is never sent to us, never shared with a third party, and is not a tracking cookie - it only controls how the page looks in that one browser.

If you email us

Emailing [email protected] means we hold that correspondence, and whatever you choose to include in it, for as long as needed to respond to you and keep a reasonable record. We do not add your address to a mailing list or share it with anyone else without asking you first.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Access, correction, and complaints

If you believe we hold information about you - most likely from an email exchange - and want to see, correct, or have it deleted, contact [email protected]. If you're not satisfied with how a privacy concern is handled, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site changes. The version here is always the current one. Last updated: 7 September 2026.
